Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 25, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny of tools from an outbuilding located in the 300 block of Farm Lane in White Post, Va. The victim reported that on July 10, 2008, he discovered a hasp had been broken off the outbuilding and upon entry, discovered a Honda Generator, an Echo pole saw, and miscellaneous hand and electric tools had been removed from the outbuilding. An Echo weedeater and a toolbox containing miscellaneous tools, was also taken from an old truck located on the premises.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 8, 2008
The Winchester Police Department is investigating several larcenies of copper that occurred over the weekend of August 8th through August 10th. Someone removed the copper downspouts from two businesses on South Cameron Street. Three 3 sections of downspout are 4-6 feet long and one section approximately 3 feet long. Also from a construction site near the Winchester Medical Center (12) 20 foot lengths of copper were taken. Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 21, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a larceny from vending machines at Bubbleworks Car Wash and an attempted larceny from vending machines at Martin’s Store. Both incidents occurred on June 27, 2008. An undetermined amount of money was taken from the machines and several thousand dollars in damages was done to the machines and door at Bubbleworks.

Winchester Crime of the week - July14,2008
Type of Crime: Breaking and Entering, Grand Larceny
On 7/9/08 the resident of an apartment in the 300 block of S Braddock Street came home to find that the front door of her apartment had been forced open. A computer, digital camera with pink flannel case, and numerous items of jewelry were taken. Information leading to the arrest of a suspect may result in a reward of up to $1,000. Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 7, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two grand larcenies at a construction site located at 321 Apple Valley Road. The first occurred between May 30th and June 2nd, 2008. The foreman of Bopat Electric reported that a Hudson dual axle trailer with rust color paint was removed from the site. In a separate incident, Daniel Swiger reported that between June 2nd and June 3rd, 2008, an orange Kubota tractor with forks on front lift and a backhoe on back, was taken from the same construction site. These items are valued at more than $36,000.

Type of Crime: Attempted Breaking and Entering
The Winchester Police Department is investigating an attempted breaking and entering in the early morning hours of June 20, 2008 of the T G I Friday's, located at 111 E Tevis Street. The manager reported discovering a 4'X3' hole cut into a wall of the business and a hole cut into a chain link fence surrounding the back of the business. The suspects are a slender white male about 6', in his early 20's, wearing a black beanie style hat and a white female, short, in her early 20's in a dark colored compact vehicle. Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 22, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a breaking and entering and petit larceny from the 200 block of Capon Lane, Cross Junction, VA on June 20, 2008. One of the residents observed the suspect go into his garage and take two tool boxes and a Poulan chain saw. When confronted by the resident, suspect dropped the toolboxes, and placed the chain saw in his vehicle. The resident chased the suspect and smashed out suspect’s driver’s side window as he fled. Suspect is described as W/M, 5’11 to 6’2”, 160-180 lbs., 40-50 years of age, wearing a gray baseball cap, gray pants and shirt, with gray/silver hair sticking out from under the cap. The vehicle is described as early 90’s Oldsmobile or Chrysler Lebaron.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 16, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vandalism at Millbrook High School, located at 251 First Woods Drive. On June 9, 2008, it was reported that the student entrance area had been spray painted with black, pink, yellow and orange spray paint. The outside sidewalk, handicap placards, and the rocks nearby were spray painted as well.

On 5/4/08 at approximately 2:20am, the Winchester Police Department responded to Bo’s Express located at 202 E. Cork Street for a report of a female who walked into the store asking for help and employees called the police. The 21 year old female was suffering from injuries to her head and was uncertain how she sustained her injuries. She was transported to the Winchester Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries and released on 5/5/08.
Evidence was located in the area of Sharp Street and East Lane. The Winchester Police Department is seeking information from the public in reference to this incident. On 5/6/08, a request for information was distributed to residents in the area of the crime scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers at 540-722-5200.

Victim: Daniel Morgan Middle School

Type of Crime: Vandalism
Summary: The Winchester Police Department is investigating a vandalism to Daniel Morgan Middle School at 48 South Purcell Avenue. The incident which occurred on April 13, 2008 around 5:30 am. Three males approached the school and spray painted gang-related graffiti in numerous locations on the school grounds and also on several vehicles in the neighborhood. One of the suspects was described as wearing a ball cap with a bandanna over his face. The other two were wearing hooded sweatshirts.

Clarke County Crime of the Week - May 2, 2008
The Berryville Police Department is investigating two larcenies from Breeze Power Equipment on First Street in the Town of Berryville. During the early morning of April 28, 2008 forced entry was made into the business and a Snapper 11 hp electric start generator was stolen. Investigation has revealed that an early 1990’s Chevy Lumina mini-van with a sunroof may have been involved in the larceny.
The second larceny occurred during the early morning of May 2, 2008 where entry to the business was again forced. During this larceny 13 Stihl chainsaws were stolen.

Summary: The Winchester Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of the Handy Mart located at 303 West Boscawen St on March 28, 2008. A white male entered the business displaying a handgun and demanded money and the employees complied. The suspect left the store walking toward Stewart Street. The suspect was described as having short blonde hair, about 5'10" tall, stocky build and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a ski mask with green and red stripes on it.

Numerous items were taken from the residence, including a flat screen TV, a Playstation 3, an XBox 360, miscellaneous games and controllers for both, a camcorder, a Compaq laptop, an Apple IPod and an Apple IPod Video.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 31, 2008
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a strong-arm robbery and assault and battery that occurred at 3522 Martinsburg Pike. The victim reported that in the early morning hours of March 8, 2008, he had accepted a ride to his home with three unknown males in a an older model dark colored GMC extended cap pickup truck. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the Martinsburg Pike address, and two of the males began to assault the victim. They demanded that he give them his money, which he did. The males then got back in the vehicle and drove off, leaving him in the parking lot.

Summary: The Winchester Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a Polly's Cab driver. The driver picked up a heavy set black female who wished to be taken to Walmart in Winchester. The female brandished a knife and demanded money. The driver was able to take the knife from the female, who then fled the area on foot heading north on S. Pleasant Valley Road.

Summary: The Winchester Police Department is investigating a strong arm robbery of the Target Store located at 2340 Legge Blvd on October 21, 2007. A male of unknown race entered the business through an employee entrance and forced an employee into an office, where he had the employee lay face down while he placed money in a duffle bag. The suspect left the area in a light colored van possibly a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette or a 2004 Chevrolet Venture. The suspect was described as wearing all black including a sweatshirt, sweatpants, ski mask and gloves.

The clerk reported that on February 22, 2008, an unidentified male entered the business, produced a handgun and demanded that she give him all the money. The clerk complied and the assailant took the cash and several packs of cigarettes. He then left on foot, running towards the back of the store.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in on February 7, 2008 at the 200 block of Sherando Circle in Stephens City. After gaining entry to the residence, unknown suspects removed an ACER Model 3003LCI laptop computer, valued at $500.00. No other items were reported missing from the residence at that time. The Sheriff’s Office is also investigating other burglaries in the area, specifically on Georgetown Court, within the last month.

Unknown suspects forcibly entered the residence through the rear basement window. Once inside, suspects removed a Sony PSP, a Playstation II, a Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance and numerous Playstation games. The Sheriff’s Office is also investigating other possibly related burglaries on Georgetown Court within the last month.

The Sheriff’s Office is also investigating other burglaries on Georgetown Court within the last month.

This week’s crime of the week involves the breaking and entering of Donato’s Only For You Restaurant at 229 S. Loudoun Street in the City of Winchester on November 17, 2007. Three individuals made entry to the business by breaking the front window. One of the suspects is a black male approximately 6’ tall or taller wearing a white sweatshirt. The other two suspects were possibly white males, both with thin builds and approximately 5’10”, wearing dark clothing.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three separate burglaries in the 100 block of Lexington Court in Stephens City, Virginia. These incidents occurred between December 8 and December 14, 2007. In each incident, entry was forced either through a rear window or the front door. A large quantity of jewelry was taken from each residence, along with a laptop computer, video games and a camera.
